Therapeutic Art Groups
We believe that creating art can improve one’s quality of life. It fosters connection with others, positively affects mood, and increases feelings of accomplishment & well being.

“I like to tell participants that creating art is like doing word or math puzzles. The act of creating uses higher-order thinking skills such as learning, understanding, applying, evaluating, and analyzing. It’s a mental workout that can help maintain and improve cognitive functioning.”
Art making engages higher order thinking skills that can enhance cognitive functioning.

Therapeutic art groups are a great way to keep older adults with cognitive decline engaged. They offer opportunities for socialization, learning, self-expression, and use of fine motor skills.
